What is a player?

The player is the the component that you will share with the viewers. Usually referred as "Videoflow Player". The player usually contains an Input that is overlayed with an Engagement. But in some cases you might want to have one without the other.

Consider the following user cases:

Engaging experience

In this case you most likely would want to have an Input overlayed by an Engagement that viewer can interact with. The player will be shared on social media, embedded in websites as a iFrame or be a part of a Channel

Part of an OTT Channel

In this case you might not need an Engagements added to the player and just provide the targeted video content to viewers as is.

Part of another graphics workflow

You might want to use the Videoflow Engagement as a graphics source in other systems. For example you can overlay your OBS stream with an Engagement and control it from Videoflow. In this case, you would add only the Engagements to the player but not provide a video source. This will result in a player that has a transparent background, allowing you to composite the player on top of other content in a third party application such as OBS.
